AGLOW GOES MOBILE – Apothecary Is Taking Wellness Services Into the Community
Last March, we introduced The Local readers to the incredible Aglow Apothecary + Healing Haven; a warm and cozy environment focused on providing holistic healing. This month, Aglow is back with even more exciting services and wellness opportunities to enrich the lives of our readers. With a wide range of options available, this is an ideal opportunity to experience natural healing methods that could be life-altering.
Nedda Hatcher, clinical herbalist, owner and visionary of Aglow, believes in Earth-focused, holistic healing – and she believes in providing access to intentional and meaningful care in every way. In conversing with Nedda, it’s impossible not to pick up on her dedication to community. When I asked her where her desire to increase access to holistic healing began, she pointed to her background in healthcare. During the pandemic, Nedda served as a travel nurse for isolated communities across Georgia, Alabama, and north Florida. Through this experience she came face to face with the negative effects that barriers to access, such as limited physical mobility, a lack of reliable transportation to appointments, and medical anxiety, can present for those needing care.
Nedda’s direct experience in providing care to those who needed it most sparked a deep passion within her to take integrated wellness therapies directly into the community as part of Aglow’s offerings. Through this vision, Aglow has established a spectacular partnership with Legacy Reserve (Old Town), a retirement community which has been highly successful in providing quality services to its residents.
“In the case of Legacy, we knew we wanted to take services into communities,” says Nedda. “This partnership with Legacy helped us figure out the logistics of how partnerships like this should work. Now that we know, we’re ready to take services on the road to more communities and organizations in our region.”
Aglow has an entire catalog of services and classes which can be offered. From therapeutic art workshops (which use the modality of painting to help redirect moods and process emotions such as grief and anxiety), to massage, to support groups, Aglow can provide communities and employees with healing experiences that meet their unique needs.
To discuss these customizable options, reach out to Nedda to set up an initial meeting to explore ways that Aglow can help. Is your support group looking for ways to enhance the experience of members? Are you an employer or human resources professional looking for intentional ways to show appreciation to your staff? Aglow can provide custom classes and services, including things like guided meditation sessions, based on the interests and needs surrounding natural healing for yourself, for a loved one and for your communities and organizations.
Nedda is currently working with a widow’s group at Legacy Reserve to help them cope with grief and anxiety. Through the supportive community created by Aglow, these women are given natural pathways to improving their wellbeing and overall quality of life. The goal of these practices is to help participants process emotions and move forward in a positive direction.
Aglow also offers creative ways to foster community through various on-site classes that can include blanket making, plant workshops for building your own terrarium and fairy gardens, differently styles of painting and more.
“We know that the act of creating helps participants process emotions, but it also gets them talking with one another. The classes build connections, which so many of us are missing in our lives,” says Nedda. “In a world where we now have more electronic ways to connect with one another than ever before, we’re lonelier than ever. So, these intentional spaces give people ways to build connections and community.”
Building that sense of community helps us feel better and more emotionally safe. Massage therapy is another emotional therapy service which Aglow can take into communities. Lolli Roth joined the healers at Aglow after over 15 years of training and massage practice in Hawaii and North Carolina. Lolli understands that massage is not only about physical healing, but that the safety and connectedness massage provides beautifully lends itself to emotional healing, as well. Other healing services offered by Aglow, such as sound therapy, red light therapy, and reiki, are also available for communities. Aglow’s unique approach to wellness sets it apart as the first local business of its kind in the Chattahoochee Valley. Aglow has a wide range of options for providing holistic healing services, ensuring that everyone in the area who wishes to access them can do so easily. Nedda and her team are dedicated to making sure that these life-enhancing services are readily available and easily accessible to all who desire them.
