New Fashion Café Brings Eloquence to Uptown

Eloquence Fashion Café (EFC) is Columbus’s newest sanctuary for anyone seeking a peaceful spot to relax, study, and shop. Located in Uptown and convenient to Columbus State University’s downtown campus, EFC was founded by Natasha Johnson, a 23-year U.S. Army veteran and the “Queen of Bling” herself. This café is designed to cater to the diverse needs of its patrons, offering everything from a coffee and snack bar to affordable shopping and printing services.

After her retirement, Natasha longed for the opportunity to express herself through fashion and create a space that would foster a sense of community. This desire led to the creation of EFC, a unique establishment that combines style, elegance, a cup of Joe, and a lot of fellowship in a comfortable and welcoming environment.

Eloquence aims to provide a one-stop-shop experience for its customers, which is why it offers a distinctive combination of products and services. “I love when people come in and are wowed by the all-in-one,” Natasha says, “Students love the vibe in here, and they enjoy the student discount.” The café serves fresh-brewed coffee, fresh-baked cookies, and a delightful assortment of jewelry, clothing, and gifts from a variety of local artisans. With EFC’s Front Avenue location, just across from the Schwob School of Music, students (and CSU faculty and staff) can pop in between classes, during lunch breaks, or after a long day of studying. The internet café also offers printing services designed to help meet the needs of students and business folk alike to provide everyone with an opportunity to unwind and still get the job done. In addition to Wi-Fi and printing services, EFC also offers access to Netflix, allowing customers to catch up on their favorite shows while enjoying a cup of coffee and a snack in a relaxing place.

Beyond chilling with Netflix or surfing the web, Eloquence is also a great place to gather with a book club or enjoy a warm beverage while your child is at music or dance lessons. Business professionals looking for a quaint, relaxing spot for a meeting will find that the café fits the bill. EFC can also be reserved as a venue to host a bridal or baby shower, a birthday party, or an anniversary celebration. For those seeking retail therapy, EFC offers locally crafted jewelry, candles, and natural soaps, as well as clothing and accessories.

Eloquence is also an intentional space for self-care and community building, because Natasha’s commitment to the community extends beyond her typical schedule. The café hosts veterans appreciation events, giving former servicemen and servicewomen the chance to reconnect and re-engage. Most recently, EFC hosted a “Leaping into Literacy” mixer, which centered around children and featured a bounce house, food trucks, and a free book for each school-aged child in attendance.

Natasha is always looking for ways to enhance Eloquence’s offerings and cater to the evolving needs and preferences of patrons. It’s easy to see. Eloquence is more than just a café. It’s a place where the community can come together to relax, connect, and enjoy a unique blend of fashion, fun, and refreshments. With its commitment to providing a comfortable but productive environment, EFC is the perfect place for students to recharge before tackling their next assignment or a great option for holding your next get-together. With its dedication to supporting the community through events and initiatives, EFC is living into its passion for fostering a sense of unity and investing in the well-being of its patrons. Don’t sleep on the opportunity to experience this one-of-a-kind establishment for yourself, where the motto is “Come in as a stranger, leave as family.”
